Ted Gacomis Senior Park

This project encompassed extensive site development and the installation of various recreational amenities to create a multi-use outdoor space for public enjoyment. The work began with site grading, ensuring a stable foundation for all planned facilities. Following this, two underground stormwater retention systems were installed to efficiently manage water runoff, reduce the risk of flooding, and protect the integrity of the site. These systems were essential in maintaining sustainable drainage and minimizing environmental impact, especially given the scale of the development and its surrounding landscape.

Recreational facilities were a core feature of this project, including the installation of two pickleball courts, complete with required fencing and essential playing appliances. These courts offer a dedicated space for the community to engage in this increasingly popular sport, designed to accommodate multiple players comfortably and withstand extensive use. In addition to the pickleball courts, two bocce ball courts were constructed, each bordered with wooden bumpers that provide both function and aesthetic appeal, enhancing the playing experience and defining the court boundaries.

A 5-foot-wide asphalt walking trail was laid to meander through the site, offering a smooth and accessible pathway for walkers, joggers, and other visitors. This trail was designed not only for durability and accessibility but also to integrate naturally with the site’s layout, creating a pleasant and cohesive experience for users. To promote physical fitness and cater to a range of interests, we installed outdoor workout equipment at select points along the trail. This equipment allows for a variety of exercises, encouraging active and healthy lifestyles among visitors of all ages.

Finally, a range of site furnishings was added, including benches, waste receptacles, and signage, creating a welcoming and user-friendly environment. These furnishings enhance the usability of the space, allowing visitors to relax, socialize, and enjoy the facilities comfortably. Through this comprehensive project, we successfully transformed the area into a well-rounded recreational destination, thoughtfully designed to provide a balance of leisure, fitness, and community gathering spaces.
