Phase 1 involved the enlargement of an existing retention pond within a 55+ community adjacent to a private golf course, addressing ecological and capacity concerns:
- Removal of trees to facilitate the expansion of the pond.
- Installation of erosion and sedimentation controls to prevent soil runoff during construction.
- Placement of approximately 300 linear feet of temporary timber access matting for construction access.
- Excavation and export of approximately 2,600 cubic yards of fill to create the expanded section of the pond.
- Shaping and forming of the pond’s new section to blend seamlessly with the existing pond structure.
Phase 2 focused on improving the pond’s water quality and capacity through silt removal:
- Draining of the existing pond to facilitate the removal of accumulated silt.
- Use of a water sediment trailer for dewatering the pond effectively.
- Export of approximately 1,500 cubic yards of silt to enhance the pond’s functionality and maintain ecological balance within the community.
