Berg Construction completed sinkhole remediation work, addressing various issues to ensure long-term stability and safety:
- Removal and replacement of compromised storm sewer pipe due to sinkhole development underneath sections of the pipe run.
- Implementation of multiple techniques to mitigate future sinkhole occurrences within the stormwater basin.
- Utilization of compaction grouting to stabilize the subgrade surrounding the pipe run.
- Application of flowable fill directly into voids to prevent further damage to the area.
- Installation of inverted filters and concrete collars to stabilize the storm pipe run, facilitating natural groundwater percolation while preventing excess soil movement.
