Q: When did you first start working for Berg Construction?
A: I joined the Berg team in 2015.
Q: What was your education and career background before Berg?
A: I earned my bachelor’s degree in environmental planning from Bloomsburg University. I have a broad background in construction using 25+ years of experience in the trades and entrepreneurship. I started my career as a government employee, then owned a business for 20 years, helping to create and foster a diversified skill set of estimation, project planning, and procurement.
As a team player, I am dedicated to creating an environment that also fosters strong relationships, open communication, and dedication to a process-driven strategy.
Q: What do you enjoy about your job? What makes you excited to go to work?
A: Passion for the construction trade gives me the advantage of focusing on the opportunities and promoting higher standards of integrity, quality, and personal attention that our clients and coworkers deserve. Meeting the daily challenges of a dynamic industry keeps my interest.
Moving forward with my plan and sharing the success with my clients and coworkers gives me the gratitude to continue. Remaining true to my personal beliefs in trust, respect, and hard work gives me the foundation to serve our clients and to encourage others to reach their potential.
Q: What sets Berg Construction apart from other companies in this industry?
A: Recognizing that people are truly the most important part of an organization, and the culture that we create is the main motivator and contributor to our success. Berg has a family-oriented, informal, and casual atmosphere.
We are committed to autonomous decision-making, availability of resources, and industry technology, and we encourage cooperation among team members. Growth is encouraged through advancement opportunities, continuing education and training, and mentoring.
Q: Can you give us some background on your personal life?
A: I’m married with two teenage children — a son and a daughter. We also have a dog named Mr. Cooper. I like coaching and training youth soccer, playing the stock market, spending time at the beach, and cooking.
I believe in the following quote by author Brian Tracy: “Decide what you want, and then act as if it were impossible to fail.”
