Q: When did you first start working for Berg Construction?
A: I started working for Berg in April 2018.
Q: What was your education and career background before Berg?
A: I graduated from Albright College with bachelor’s degrees in accounting and criminology in 2004. I have 20+ years of experience in construction ranging from concrete and residential development to commercial construction.
After spending 12 years building residential housing developments, I was looking for a change and an opportunity to shift to the commercial side of the business. That’s why I chose to apply for a job at Berg.
Q: What do you enjoy about your job? What makes you excited to go to work?
A: I like having the opportunity to create something tangible that you can drive by for years down the line and know you had a part in building it.
Q: What sets Berg Construction apart from other companies in this industry?
A: We are problem-solvers. We are not afraid to go outside our comfort zone when opportunity shows itself. We take challenges that may not be in our standard scope of work and figure out how to get them done. If you have a good attitude and a great work ethic, the opportunities are plentiful.
I am not a big fan of people that think certain things are beneath them. This company top to bottom has the mentality of doing whatever it takes. There is no task that anybody will not do, no matter their title. You can’t ask someone to do something you are not willing to do yourself.
Q: Can you give us some background on your personal life?
A: I’ve been married since 2007, and I have two boys (Kyle and Karson). We live in Boyertown, PA. I like to spend time with my family, and I also enjoy working in the garage tinkering on anything with a motor. I ride dirtbikes in the summer and snowmobiles in the winter. My favorite team is the Philadelphia Eagles.
