Berg’s Annual Safety Day

Why Safety Day is Important

Promoting safety is about creating a culture where everyone looks out for each other. Our annual Safety Day is one of the ways we make sure everyone has the knowledge and tools to stay safe on the job.

Focused Training Led by Experts

This year’s event took place at St. Benedict’s Church. The day kicked off with classroom-style training, where our Safety Coordinator, Don, reviewed crucial topics like trenching and rigging safety. These sessions focused on real-world scenarios, not just regulations, ensuring everyone could apply what they learned directly to the job.

Afterward, we moved into hands-on training. Crew members practiced rigging setups and trench protection systems. The goal was to make sure everyone felt confident in their skills and knew how to prevent accidents before they happen.

Safety Day Is About More Than Skills

Safety Day isn’t only about learning procedures—it’s about reinforcing our commitment to one another. We understand that the work we do is tough, but taking time to pause and focus on safety makes all the difference. It’s a chance for our team to reconnect and ensure everyone is on the same page when it comes to protecting each other, both on and off the job.

Celebrating a Successful Year

In addition to the training, we also celebrated our team’s achievements with the release of the 2024 Berg “yearbook”. This yearbook highlights the projects we’ve completed and, more importantly, the incredible team behind them. It’s a reminder of how far we’ve come and how much more we can accomplish when we work together.

A Big Thank You

We owe thanks to The Heritage Restaurant for providing lunch and to St. Benedict’s Church for generously hosting us. Most importantly, we want to thank our team for their dedication. It’s not easy to take time out of a busy schedule, but the effort is always worth it when we know we’re all working towards the same goal: going home safe every day.

Safety Is an Ongoing Commitment

At Berg, we know that safety isn’t something we check off once a year—it’s an ongoing commitment. Whether it’s digging a trench, rigging a load, or making an everyday decision, being safe is always top of mind. We’re proud of the work we do, but we’re even prouder of how we do it: with a focus on safety, teamwork, and respect for one another.
